OMRON CONNECT PRIVACY STATEMENT

Scope
This OMRON CONNECT PRIVACY STATEMENT (“Statement”) applies to your use of:
- OMRON connect Application Software and any updates or supplements to it, an application provided by us or a member of our company group (“App”), once you have downloaded a copy of the App onto your smart phone, tablet device and other handheld device (“Device”).
- OMRON connect Cloud Service, which allows users, by using the App, to store part of Customer Information located in a Device (other than passwords) in servers managed by us or our service provider and to remotely access such Customer Information from the user’s Device (“Service”), if you choose to connect the App with such Service.
This Statement sets out the basis on which Omron Healthcare Singapore Pte Ltd, having its registered address at 438B Alexandra Road, Alexandra Technopark, #08-01/02, Singapore 119968, (“Omron” or “we”) will process personal data which we collect from you or you provide to us in connection with the App and/or the Service. Please read carefully and agree to the following terms to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. However, if you are a minor according to applicable law in your country, you must not register yourself on and use the App and the Service.
Information we may collect from you
The App can be used as a stand-alone mobile application that only has local storage. If you reside in a certain country where we provide the Service, you can also choose to connect it to the Service by creating your personal account for the Service.
If you use the App as a stand-alone mobile application without using the Service, your Vital Data will be stored on your Device only. All the data stored by the App on your Device will be encrypted with up-to-date encryption techniques to assure that your personal data cannot be easily accessed and/or read by unauthorized third parties.
Regardless of whether you use the App with or without the Service, we collect and process the following personal data about you and your Device in accordance with your consent to this Statement. Please note that, although the provision of your personal data is not mandatory, you may not be able to fully use our App and/or Service in case you do not provide your personal data to us or do not consent to the terms herein.
In case you use the App without the Service, we may collect from you the following “Attribute Information”, “Registered Device Information”, “Support Information” and “User History Information”.
In case you choose to connect it to the Service, we may collect your “Vital Data” and “Account Information” (other than password) below additionally.
- Customer Information:
- your date of birth, age, gender, height, body weight, and/or any other attribute information which are provided by you (“Attribute Information”);
- your blood pressure, body weight and other measurement data measured by our healthcare device (“Vital Data”);
- information about the healthcare device from which Vital Data is transmitted to the App and information entered in such device (“Registered Device Information”); and
- your login ID, token for authenticating ID, e-mail address, password, and any other information relating to your account set by you to use the Service (“Account Information”);
- Support Information
- your information you give us if you contact us for support or other purposes.
- User History Information:
- your access history, operation history within the App, search history, IP address, dates, reference/exit pages and any other information about your use of the Service by using the identification information that is sent from the web server when a browser accesses the website, and sent from the browser to the server during future access (“Cookies”), and the URL information of the website accessed by you immediately prior, which information is sent by browser (“Referrer Information”) and/or other methods.
- Linked App and Service information:
- Information about the customer transferred from the linked application and/or service to the system server of the App or the Service ,if you agree that the App and/or Service link with a third-party application and/or service (hereinafter referred to as the "Linked App / Service"). In addition, you separately agree to disclose and provide the Linked App / Service Information to us by the third-party, including the Linked App / Service provider or its affiliates, through the Linked App / Service.
* If the Linked App / Service is "Google Health Connect (GHC)", the Linked App and Service information is hereinafter referred to as "GHC Data".
Also, if the Linked App / Service is "Google Fit", the Linked App and Service information is hereinafter referred to as "Google Fit Data".
- Location Information
- This App requests permission to access your Device’s location information (“Location Information”) to enable Bluetooth communication with your OMRON healthcare product (“Product”). However, we don’t collect or use the Location Information. The App accesses the GPS information on your Device as precise location and the approximate location collected by Android OS on your Device. You may disable the permission to access the Location Information at any time, but the Bluetooth communication with the Product is disabled.
By selecting “Allow all the time” in the location permission setting, the App can transfer data from your Product even when the App is closed.
You acknowledge that we may obtain your information from third parties, including our service providers and their alliance partners, where such disclosure has been permitted by you through the privacy settings of such third parties.
How we use your information
We use personal data held about you for the following purposes:
- to inform you of products and/or services we offer;
- to provide, operate, and manage the App and/or the Service;
- to handle your enquiries about the App and/or the Service;
- to ask you to fill in questionnaires;
- to develop or improve our products (including development of algorithms) and/or services in our medical or healthcare businesses;
- to distribute campaign and event information, announcement of drawings and winners, or shipping of prizes;
- to recruit subjects for clinical study or execute clinical study;
- to conduct medical/healthcare research and related academic activities, including publications of treatise and articles;
- to respond when you contact us for support or other purposes; and
- to conduct other planning and marketing activities, development (including system and application development) activities, production activities, and promotional and sales activities related to medical or healthcare devices and services, as well as activities incidental to any of the above activities.
* We will only transfer GHC Data to third parties for improving the application’s use case or features. We will not use GHC Data for any other purposes, including transfer to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers (We will process GHC Data in compliance with Google Play Store's policy for APIs accessing sensitive data).
Also, we will use and transfer Google Fit Data received from Google APIs to any other app in compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disclosure of your information to third parties
We may disclose personal data we collect from you to the third parties including our affiliated companies and vendors to operate the App and the Service for the following purposes:
- to process personal data for the purposes above written, including application usage analytics, data storage, customer support and marketing analysis;
- to enforce any of our terms and conditions or policies;
- to comply with a law, regulation, court order, legal process or governmental request in or outside the country of your residence;
- to assert legal rights or defend against legal claims; and
- to prevent, detect or investigate illegal activity, fraud, abuse, violations of our terms, threats to the security or physical safety of any person.
We may disclose or provide Customer Information to third parties for our sales, marketing, development and/or research activities by de-personalizing it, such as statistical information obtained by processing Customer Information in a manner that will prevent specific individuals from being identified.
Transfer of your information outside your country
Your personal data may also be transferred to and used in countries outside your country, such as Singapore and Japan, for the purposes described in this Statement. Such countries may not have the same level of protection for your information as your country. We guarantee that all such data transfers are in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
Security measures
We have implemented technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, use and disclosure. All the personal data you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Any data transfer will be encrypted using Secured Sockets Layer technology.
Unfortunately, the transition of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Service; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your personal data, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access.
Your rights
You have several rights with regards to our processing of your personal data, including:
- You may access to your personal data which we store.
- You may request update, correction, deletion, or cessation of the processing, of your personal data.
- You may withdraw your consent to and/or may object to the processing of your personal data. Please note that if you do so, you cannot continue to use the App and/or the Service. Please refer to the process described in the section ‘How to cancel your account’ below for the Service.
- You may request to postpone or restrict the processing of your personal data. If you want to restrict processing, you cannot continue to use the App and/or the Service. Please refer to the process described in the section ‘How to cancel your account’ below for the Service.
- You may request us to export and provide your personal data so that you transfer it to another service or a third party which you select.
Please note that we cannot meet your requests regarding your information which is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you (Anonymized Information), as it is impossible to specify which information is yours.
Retention of your information
We will retain your information as long as you keep the App and/or your account for the Service. After you stop using it and cancel your account and/or uninstall the App, we may retain only your Anonymized Information.
